To: John Flanagan, NY State Senate Majority Leader
Tell Senator Flanagan it's time for ethics reform!
I am not happy with the endless parade of corruption scandals coming from Albany. Your suggestion that corruption convictions show that current rules are working is out of touch with what New Yorkers feel. Rather, the constant, high-profile scandals show us how badly we need to change the rules to prevent corruption.
In fact, 90% of New York voters want reforms to address corruption.
Failure to pass meaningful reform this session will only further erode what little public trust is left in our state legislators.

Why is this important?
This year, Senate Majority Leader Flanagan is stonewalling legislation that would clean up Albany. He has said many times that current laws are “effective.”
A recent poll showed that 89% of New York voters view corruption as a serious problem. When asked about this huge sign of support for ethics reform, Senator Flanagan told reporters: “I have not seen the results of the poll.”
He has also twice (!) gone on record in February stating that ethics reform will be a low priority for him because he hasn't been hearing concern from voters.
Make sure Senator Flanagan get's the message!
