Newly elected Latta, SC Mayor, Earl Bullard, has fired popular Police Chief Crystal Moore, apparently because she is openly gay. Tell the Mayor that being openly gay is NOT worse than being a drunk.
Why is this important?
Mayor Bullard ostensibly fired Chief Moore for a difference in opinion, but local news reports have indicated that Mayor Bullard would rather have "somebody who drank and drank too much taking care of my child than I had somebody whose lifestyle is questionable around children."
On Tuesday, April 22, the City Council rebuked the mayor by passing an ordinance to keep him from hiring a new Chief, and then passed a resolution in support of Crystal Moore.
