To: Colorado Air Quality Control Commission
Tell the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission to adopt strong rules
Governor Hickenlooper has proposed strong statewide air quality safeguards for oil and gas production. These draft rules have support from many in the conservation community and at least five of the major oil and gas companies operating in Colorado, including Anadarko Petroleum, Encana USA, and Noble Energy.
If finalized by the Air Quality Control Commission next week, the governor's proposed rules would both improve our air quality AND reduce potent greenhouse gas pollution contributing to climate change. We need to make sure these rules are passed as proposed and not gutted by companies like Exxon and Chevron.
Our message to the commission is to stand strong—and keep the rules strong.

Why is this important?
Every Coloradan deserves to have the air they breathe free from toxic pollution. We need the Commission to follow Governor Hickenlooper’s leadership and adopt his proposed rules. Given the rapid pace of development, public health impact from oil and gas pollution, and obligation to combat climate change, Colorado needs to take charge and lead on oil and gas pollution safeguards.
