What are the major progressive accomplishments in this decade in Maine? A higher minimum wage. Expanded health insurance for struggling working people. Ranked choice voting.
How did we get them? Through popular referendum votes.
So what is the response of the political establishment? LD 1726, which would cripple the referendum process by prohibiting the collection of signatures on election days.
