The big banks must have smarter folks working for them than the government. The banks are loving the current modification process because it benefits them. With landmines like the infamous "NPV" evaluation, it's nearly impossible to get the banks to go along with any sort of "good faith" negotiation in getting a loan mod. And most folks know, it's almost impossible to sit down in front of a real person and attempt to save something as important as your home.
Surley we can do a better job of enacting regulations that benefit consumers rather than banks.
Why is this important?
This petition is about the banks and how they have duped lawmakers into thinking the loan modification process is working. As anyone who has, or is currently, undergoing a loan modification, the deck is stacked against well-meaning homeowners who simply want to save their homes.l
