The unpaid internship does not create jobs, keeps governments from collecting revenues on the income interns would be earning, and are a drain on our middle class.
Abolish the internship and create on the job training.
Why is this important?
The internship has become a way for corporations and businesses to take advantage of young middle class college grads. They have the same responsibilities as a job but for zero dollars. The only people who can do them are middle class college grads who are being subsidized by their parents' retirements. It's time to force businesses to stop taking advantage of these kids and create some entry level jobs.
