Tell the Senate: block torture-loving Gina Haspel from taking over the CIA
Gina Haspel is completely unqualified to lead the CIA. After overseeing torture of prisoners in a secret prison in Thailand, she attempted to erase all evidence. Now, a human rights group in Germany has an active arrest warrant out for her.
I'm calling on you today to block her appointment. We cannot allow someone so ruthless and dangerous to elevate to such a position of power.
Why is this important?
I'm an U.S. Army veteran. I remember what happened at the Abu Ghraib prison -- where dozens of prisoners were beaten, tortured, or worse at the hands of our government. Some of my friends and fellow service members were actually a part of the team that shut the place down, so I'm well aware what that barbaric behavior does to a human being.
Let me be clear: we can not rest so long as a torture-advocate like Gina Haspel has so much power over the CIA. Torture doesn't work. It's inhumane. Monstrous. Criminal. And not only does she actively advocate for it's use, but she carried out torture rings in Thailand then tried to cover it up!
There is simply too much at stake to let Trump’s illegitimate regime further dismantle our diplomatic institutions. I know we can win this battle if we work together and take decisive action right away. This is what we’re made for.
