Tell Congress to "Pass the Veterans Jobs Corps Act of 2012"

Stop playing politics with our veterans' earned benefits. Their dedicated service provides all Americans with the liberty to fight injustice and now it is our duty to fight for our heroes. Pass the Veterans Jobs Corps Act of 2012.

Why is this important?

The G.O.P. continues to vote down bills created to provide employment opportunities for war veterans, so we must urge these politicians to begin supporting the heroes that fight the wars they support. The time to end hypocritical policies begins now.

The bill gives priority to those who served on or after 9/11 with good reason; the jobless rate for veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan hit 10.9% in August, compared with 8.1% nationally. Our heroes face challenges when they return (homelessness, unemployment, and record suicides), and this act would seek to create jobs for veterans in various fields (including law enforcement and firefighting), as well as create jobs to help maintain national veterans’ cemeteries in need of repairs, and to perform a variety of conservation work on federal, state and local parkland.

This is our opportunity to show our appreciation and support to the men and women who risked their lives fighting wars by helping to ensure they receive earned opportunities for a successful transition back into our country, the land of the free and the brave.
