Tell the Walt Disney Company to withdrawal its support for Adam Putnam!

State election records show Disney contributed $514,000 to conservative Republican Adam Putnam's campaign. Adam Putnam is an extremely divisive man who once referred to himself as a "proud NRA sellout" and has a track record of casting anti-minority votes while simultaneously working toward suppressing the votes of minorities in the state of Florida. A candidate who holds such divisive and cruel anti-immigration views should not be tolerated by a company like Disney whose ideals are supposed to be all about inclusivity and tolerance of people from all different backgrounds.

Please take action to have The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiary companies withdrawal its support for Adam Putnam! Disney should be setting an example of tolerance and inclusion for all. Providing donations to a man who is anything but inclusive will only add to the dangerous rhetoric that is unfortunately going on in the country at this time, perpetuating the state of fear that many children and families have had to suffer under the Trump administration. If Disney truly cares about children and their families, they should not be helping to fund Adam Putnam's campaign.

Does Disney really care more about perpetuating corporate greed rather than protecting the rights of marginalized people--many of whom include their own employees, husbands, wives, and children? If corporate greed is more important than the happiness and safety of marginalized children and their families, then maybe Disney is not really the "Happiest Place On Earth." If true, this is a very sad revelation.

Bob Iger, if you are truly as progressive as you claim to be, then you should also be outraged by Adam Putnam's hateful rhetoric. And if you don’t want Disney's name tied up with a man like him, then I hope you will do the right thing and have Disney withdrawal its support for his political campaign. I also believe whoever was responsible for making that Disney Worldwide Services, Inc. donation to Adam Putnam should be fired immediately. By donating to Adam Putnam, they are ruining Disney's name as well as yours since many will presume you have aligned yourself with his politics. Please show that Disney is NOT ok with Adam Putnam's rhetoric and distance your company from this prejudiced man. Please prove that Disney has not turned their back on the marginalized and the oppressed.
