Tell your Representative: Don’t scrap basic protections for our oceans!
Dear Representative,
I was alarmed to hear that Congress has scheduled a floor vote for HR 200, which would roll back key ocean protection measures of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. Please take steps to maintain the conservation and protection policies of Magnuson-Stevens by opposing H.R. 200 as currently written.
As written, the Magnuson-Stevens Act has been effective in reducing overfishing and restoring many once-vulnerable fish populations. The Act has created fishing jobs and resulted in other economic benefits. Congress should be protecting our oceans and conserving marine species and their habitats. Supporting legislation like H.R. 200 would devastate years of progress.
I urge you to do everything you can to protect our oceans, including opposing H.R. 200.
Thank you,

Why is this important?
Congress is about to vote on a bill that would slash protections for our oceans and marine life. This bill would allow large-scale, commercial fishing companies to pollute our environment and engage in harmful and reckless overfishing practices.
We need your help to stop this bill from passing!
