Term Limits for Members of Congress
America needs Congressional term limits. Members of the Senate may serve unlimited six-year terms and members of the House may serve unlimited two-year terms. The people of United States deserve to be represented by politicians that are driven by a desire to legislate for the common good of America in the limited time they are elected to serve. The need to be accountable to the American people needs to be established and maintained by an influx of new thoughts and ideas on a regular basis not old allegiances. those individuals elected to serve in the Senate should be limited to serve two six-year terms and members of the House should be limited to serve 6, two-year terms in their life.
Why is this important?
It is time to place limits on Congressional representatives to break the gridlock in Washington. The American people have little approval for the way Congress is working at this point and no governmental body should become a hindrance to conducting the business of the people they represent or become a representative to only those interests driven by a profit motive a balance must be struck and the best way to strike that balance is through a regular influx of new civic minded people who know they have a limited time frame in which to accomplish the good work of the people of this great Nation.
