We have seen time and again how pathetic our elected officials are at addressing the needs of the US populace. Some people in congress have been there for 20+ years. This results in them doing what is best for themselves, NOT the United States as a whole, which is what they swore to when they took the oath of office. If the President of the United States has term limits, all elected officials should have term limits to prevent them from abusing their power hurting all citizens of the US and those abroad.
Why is this important?
The US Congress is at a standstill constantly and it is clear what the issue is: too many people are putting their party ahead of what is best for the country. Term limits should be enacted to keep Congressman and Senators from getting too cozy with those who fund their re-election campaigns.
