We are asking legislators to actually vote against their own personal best interests in favor of the country's interests. Difficult as it may seem, the voice of common citizens must be heard to abolish a system that is driven by special, wealthy interests whose only objective is selfish power over the virtual enslavement of the citizenry
Why is this important?
Even before the Citizen United decision, special interests thoroughly corrupted our democracy to plutocratic rule. Mindful that some decent elected officials may also be swept away from government, the cleansing results would be beneficial to all citizens.
