Personal Care Attendants in Texas deserve Competitive Wages and Full Benefits.
Why is this important?
Texas has one of the lowest rates of pay in the Nation for Personal Care Attendants (PCAs) who provide vital daily care services to people with disabling conditions. In addition, these caregivers do not receive healthcare benefits or paid time off. The average salary of a PCA in Texas is $7.80/hour, leaving those who need assistance at a loss to hire dependable, qualified workers. It also leads to a high rate of worker turnover. Without the help of PCAs, thousands of people with disabilities, like me, cannot get out of bed everyday and actively contribute to the communities in which we live. We work. We pay taxes. We support our State's economy. And WE VOTE! So, don't you think that we deserve a better life for our employees? Please sign this if you think that we do.
