Texas TDCJ Coalition

The slogan of the state of Texas is "Don't mess with Texas." Indeed, Texas is strict with those who do not follow the law. Those that break the law are provided with a fair trial and put behind bars. Even so, life for the offender does not end with imprisonment. Loyal and hard working Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Correctional Officers defend us against these offenders while at the same time providing rehabilitatative programs to reduce recidivisism (return to prison after release). Unfortunately, TDCJ Correctional Officers are underpaid and have poor benefits, even though some have died in the line of duty. By signing this petition we stand with Texas Correctional Officers and believe they should receive yearly and generous pay raises to compensate for the cost of living, to encourage dedicated citizens to consider TDCJ as a viable long-time career and to reflect our respect for their hazardous employment for our benefit.
