To: HASC members who voted NO on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)
Thank the HASC Members Who Rejected the NDAA
While millions struggle to put food on the table, pay their bills, and cover historically high gas prices, $1.5 trillion in taxpayer dollars for more weapons and war is unjustifiable.
This is no time for business as usual, and I am grateful for your vote against passing the NDAA out of committee. I urge you to keep using every opportunity to block the $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget request.

Why is this important?
12 members voted NO on passing the NDAA out of committee in what Punchbowl News called a “stunning level” of opposition to the must-pass bill that sets the Pentagon budget topline.
These votes rejecting business as usual now help pave the way for us to keep expanding the coalition of lawmakers willing to reject Trump’s Pentagon budget request.
With DC’s war hawks on the defensive, now is the moment to dig deeper and keep growing our coalition of lawmakers willing to stop an egregious $1.5 TRILLION budget for weapons and war.
That work starts by expressing gratitude toward the lawmakers who voted NO last week, which can go a long way toward building a sustainable majority with the power to block this war budget.
