Dear Dr. Ford,
Thank you for coming forward to speak about your allegations of sexual assault against Mr. Kavanaugh. We want you to know that we stand with you. We are grateful to you for taking a stand against those people who seek to deny and diminish the experiences of sexual assault survivors. We have seen how President Trump and a select group of elected officials have sought to discredit you and have smeared your good name in order to put into place a Supreme Court Justice of their choosing before the November elections. We are outraged that they have sought to discredit you and dismiss your story before even listening to your testimony.
Our hearts go out to you for the lack of civility shown to you by those in power and a small group of misguided Americans. We pray that the verbal assaults and threats against you and your family cease immediately.
We understand you never intended to be an advocate for sexual assault survivors. We are sorry that you have had to relive the painful events of your childhood in front of the entire nation. We are also forever grateful for your courage in coming forward in order for your story to be heard by the Judiciary Committee and the American public. You stand as a voice for so many of us who will never see justice for ourselves and/or our loved ones who are survivors of sexual assault. We believe you. You are not alone. You are an inspiration.

Why is this important?
I want Dr. Christine Blasey Ford to know she is not alone. I want to let her know that we stand with her and commend her for her courage by choosing to put her civic duty before her personal wellbeing and safety. By doing so, we also seek to empower survivors of sexual assault who want to come forward but are afraid to do so.
