The Fannie Lou Hamer Voter Registration Day

Healing Through the Sound of Music has published a new initiative to establish a National Day of Remembrance on October 6th, the birthday of Mrs. Fannie Lou Hamer, to remember ALL Americans who worked in the struggle for the right to vote subjecting themselves to brutal beatings and murder.

Why is this important?

Healing Through the Sound of Music produces the critically acclaimed One-Woman Play, "The Fannie Lou Hamer Story" written and performed by multi-award winning, multi-talented Mzuri Moyo Aimbaye. We endeavor to rally support during the continuation of our 50th commemorative national tour of the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to establish a Day of Remembrance for ALL Americans who participated in the struggle for human dignity and freedom subjecting themselves to brutal beatings and murder to obtain the right to vote.
