PTSD from tragedies like Sandy Hook leave some first responders victims of this life altering condition. Municipalities fight the rights of these people to get payments for being out of work for long term disability as the result of seeing these horrific scenes. Municipalities are crippled financially due to a responsibility to compensate. Tell the President and Congress to make the NRA, and gun manufacturers be the responsible party.
They can easily afford it, and since they pay lobbyists to buy politicians to kill any gun legislation paying for PTSD should be a cost of doing their business.
Why is this important?
It's the right thing to do for the men and women who have to witness these terrible tragedies, and then to try and return to a normal life, and their jobs. PTSD victims need help. It gives many of these people a lifetime of nightmares, flashbacks, and can lead to suicide if left untreated.
