Three Village: Save Junior HS Athletics

We would like to voice our support of the Junior High Athletic Program, and ask that you do not cut or reduce this valuable program in the revised 2.99% budget. Sports at this age keep students active and fit, and help to improve their self-esteem. In addition, studies show that students involved in sports achieve higher academic success. This is not a program that only benefits a few; the elimination or reduction of Junior High sports will have an adverse effect on a large number of Three Village students.

Why is this important?

The Board of Education of the Three Village Central School District is currently considering cuts to a number of programs -- including Junior High Athletics at Murphy and Gelinas JHS -- to reach a 2.99% tax levy. As they will decide on the exact cuts by the next meeting on Tuesday, May 29, we must speak up now to ask the Board to preserve Junior High Athletics from being cut.
