Minnesota Democratic Voters need to decide who to place on the ballot for the US Senate seat vacated by Al Franken (D) and demand a public debate between Tina Smith and Richard Painter.

Why is this important?

The Minnesota primary election will be held on August 14th. Democratic voters will need to choose the strongest candidate to place on the ballot for the critical election in November. Tina Smith, former lieutenant governor of Minnesota and appointed by Governor Dayton to temporarily fill the US Senate seat vacated by Al Franken; or Richard Painter, currently a law professor at the University of Minnesota and former chief White House ethics lawyer. Minnesotans need to know more about these two candidates.
