Black History month is February, we have Hispanic Heritage month, and we now have East Indian Heritage, why not Southern Heritage. I believe we as Southerners should be able to celebrate our heritage also, to be proud of whom we are, Black or White Southerners. April 26th is a legal state holiday celebrating Confederate Memorial Day, so why not make the whole month of April a celebration.
Why is this important?
I want the State of Florida to recognize that the early Florida was developed by Southerners. The state would not be the Great State of Florida it is today without the Southern people and their heritage.
