Please, consider a law that ties property tax to household income of retired senior citizens .
Why is this important?
Me and my wife are retired and live on social security benefits. Our total annual income is less than 25 thousands a year. We pay 9 thousands a year for property taxes, which is about two fifth of our income. the rest of our income is spent on food, medical cost, gas and utility bills.
We have payed our share to property taxes when we were able to work and earn good income. Now, our income is very limited and it is not fare to be to live in poverty in order to maintain our house, which is our only shelter.
