To: Keith A. Bergman, Town Administrator
Town of Littleton Private Roads-Snow Plowing
WHAT IS NEEDED
We are petitioning the Town to rescind their decision. We request the opportunity for our voices to be heard on this issue.
WHY
The residents are concerned over safety and security issues regarding medical, fire and police being able to access their residence. Our taxes pay for the upkeep of 61.7 miles of roads in Littleton. Our private roads are well maintained and do not pose undue financial burdens on the town as we pay for their maintenance personally. All we ask is for the Town to continue it’s 20+ year policy of plowing and sanding the 4.27 miles of private roads, to do so is not unreasonable and in all fairness, the right thing to do.

Why is this important?
On February 27, 2012, the Town of Littleton Selectmen voted to discontinue the 20+ year policy of plowing and sanding the 4.27 miles of private roads. The Town failed to notify us of this decision, although we had requested to be notified of any changes to this policy.
