Traffic Cameras reinstated and monitored in Oakland

From personal experience I became aware all of the traffic cameras at intersections throughout Oakland are never used even though they work and have already been paid for. If you get involved in an accident you will get responses from law enforcement which state it is being investigated when it is not. As someone who has been involved twice in hit-&-runs in Oakland at intersections only to be left with medical bills and destroyed property and no one to help recoup loses I feel not only would it be a good thing for other citizens (who I have also seen hit in the same intersection I was) as well as local government to not only enforce the law but generate easy income from the frequent drivers who abuse/stop in intersections and block traffic for everyone, thus making it worse especially during rush hour. Maybe a little fine to say the least will motivate some people to become better drivers, own up to responsibilities, or stop driving all together.

Why is this important?

I have been hit twice in an intersections with cameras on it as well as have seen others hit in the same intersection. Mine and the others I have seen were hit and runs. Also drivers stink and often block traffic and make traffic worse parking in intersections. It would be an easy way to generate income and keep Oakland citizens safe as well as help out with other cases which are near intersections that may be being investigated.
