There are several reasons why we should rid ourselves of the Electoral College process:
1. The Electoral College basically ensures that an independent candidate has no chance of ever becoming president.
2. The Electoral College is subject to deception and discrimination by redrawing district boundaries when a minority party is not available to vote (e.g., look at what happened in Virginia).
3. The Popular Vote ensures that EVERY vote counts, regardless of district boundaries, line, redrawing, etc
4. Today's technology, accuracy of results, and fraud prevention allows us to move forward with the Popular Vote.
I am sick and tired of seeing power grabs be made by Majority Parties - I don't care if it's a republican or democrat - just because one party is in the minority and is at an event. Please help us remove the Electoral College and make every single one of our votes count!
Why is this important?
The Electoral College is an antiquated form of voting in the United States due the mobility we have as a nation. We need to transition to the Popular Vote, which will make every vote count and be subject to much less discrimination based on the Electoral College district boundaries.
