We, the residents of Shepherdstown, request transparency in the issue of annexations and National Park relations.. We expect there will be no conflict of interest issues in our city and county officials representing us and the voices of the residents be heard and considered. Residents have rights, pay taxes and pay into the levy.
Why is this important?
In the past three years our city has gone through alot of physical and boundary changes. Students were counted as residents without proper representation, land was annexed into the corporation despite overwhelming resident opposition, zoning applications seemed unevenly granted, blasting ordinances seeemed weak, public meetings were not timely or properly posted, and federal grants( RCTA) were mishandled.
