Transparent schedules for members of Congress
We demand that all members of Congress post schedules on their Congressional website listing all public events (town halls, roundtable discussions, meet-and-greet events, rallies, etc) at least a week in advance.
Why is this important?
In the past year, I have tried to engage with all three of my US Congressmen and have in all three cases been told blatant lies by their staff - that by signing up for their newsletter, I will get an e-mail notification of any public events they hold. This never, never happens. The only event postings I have seen are created by constituents to organize groups to attend town halls, and after-the-fact pictures on their FB feeds. They and their staff are colluding to make it needlessly difficult for the public to engage with them, and this needs to stop. It is undemocratic, un-American, and serves neither the interests of their supporters or their opponents.
