We do not support the removal of the head of household category thereby increasing the tax rate for single parent households. To ask single parents to shoulder more taxes is not fair to the parents and the families.
Why is this important?
The proposed tax changes by President - Elect Trump removes the head of household designation for single parent families. Single parent households will have to file as single, and this will cost these middle-class families significant tax increases. The election promise was to lower taxes on the middle-class not increase it on the backs of single parents struggling everyday to make a life for their families. In effect single parent families are being penalized.
