Trust Fund Emergency Petition to Congress
I am calling on every member of Congress to take the following two actions:
(1) Make it illegal to spend money from the Social Security Trust Fund for any reason other than paying Social Security Retirement Benefits.
(2) Require that the United States Treasury immediately begin repayment of the Social Security funds that have been borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund and spent on other government programs.

Why is this important?
In theory, the Social Security Trust Fund has a surplus of $2.8 Trillion which is designed to help pay for the retirement of baby boomers. Unfortunately, over the last thirty years, Congress has borrowed from that Social Security Trust Fund and there is no plan in place to repay it.
