Petition to require public statements made by any elected official to be considered "Under Oath" and to carry the same legal responsibilities as would be considered while in a court of law. A public statement from an elected official, determined to be a deliberate falsehood should be considered perjury.
Why is this important?
Elected officials are intended to be working in the interest of their constituents. As such, statements made while in office, should carry the weight and responsibility of truth.
