Please consider making the following resolution your own:
Whereas, one cannot honor both an oath to protect and defend the United States Constitution and the pledge never to vote for a tax increase, conceived by the 14-year-old Grover Norquist and promoted by him when he was old enough to know better;
Therefore, be it resolved that the Norquist pledge is null and void for all legislators for all time.
Why is this important?
Between George Bush's tax cuts and Grover Norquist's whimsical "pledge" we will be lacking the "power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States" as mandated in Article I of the United States Constitution.
