Unfreeze Merit and Longevity increases of hard working state employees

End the freezes of merit and longevity pay for state employees.
Qualified employees are hard to find and even more difficult to keep when year after year goes by without a merit increase especially when their starting pay is below the national average. Maine will continue to lose our younger generations of graduates to competitive states if we continue to disrespect our best employees with these continued freezes.

Why is this important?

Governor Lepage wants to freeze pay increases until June 2015, this could mean six years of flat wages for employees, with essential costs of living increasing daily and the retention of and recruitment of quality staff so diificult; this freeze is outrageous.
