A uniform background check by a Federal database must be passed by anyone attempting to purchase any firearm within the U.S. If the purchaser is a convicted felon, has a protection from abuse order against them, or has known mental illness, they should not be eligible to purchase a firearm.
Why is this important?
Self-explanatory. NO gun should be sold in the U.S. unless the buyer passes a universal background check, proving he/she is NOT a danger to anyone else, by having NO known mental illnesses, a protection from abuse order, or felony conviction.
