Keep up the pressure on our State Legislators. If Colorado can pass a Universal Background Check Law there is no reason it can't happen in Washington.
Why is this important?
Gun related deaths are a national epidemic. Many people who are legally prohibited from owning a firearm can still purchase them through private sales and gun shows. Universal Background checks would reduce the number of sales to these people. A gun in the home is more like to be used on a family member or acquaintance than it is on a burglar or as a means of committing suicide. It is just too easy to lose your temper, pick up a gun and shoot someone dead.
