We believe that Donald Trump may attempt to undermine the special counsel investigation, committing a Saturday Night Massacre in slow motion by systematically pressuring key individuals to resign so that he can replace them with individuals who will pledge loyalty to him.
Why is this important?
Donald Trump has repeatedly shown that he is motivated to compromise that investigation and is setting the stage through Devin Nunes' memo to make a case to the American people that the investigation should be ended. Congress needs to pass legislation to preserve the integrity of our governing system and reinforce that nobody is above the law.
