Urge Mayor Bloomberg to reimburse City Employees
On 10/18/12 a NYC notification was issued suspending all MTA subway & commuter rails citywide effective 10/28/12 @ 7pm & MTA bus service as of 9pm. Due to the citywide shutdown & our place of business being without power until 11/3/12, the majority of city employees could not report to their work locations. No contingency plans were in place. Subsequently annual leave time has been reduced. Mayor Bloomberg has the chance to act in a humanitarian capacity & recognize the impact this unprecedented storm had on the city, in which a State of Emergency was declared, closing major roadways, bridges & tunnels. We are calling on the Mayor to do what is right & at least excuse employees the day of the storm 10/29/12 & the day after the storm 10/30/12. Furthermore, any tri state residents adversely impacted by Hurricane Sandy should have their annual leave reviewed on a case by case basis.
Why is this important?
Extend excused time for city employees for Monday, 10/29/12 & Tuesday, 10/30/12. Due to citywide suspension of all subways, buses & commuter rails, as well as roads, bridges & tunnels.
