U.S. Congress: Commit to Renewable Energy!

By the year 2030, at least 40 percent of the energy consumed in the United States must be renewable. Pass legislation and develop an energy road map to ensure this goal is met.

Why is this important?

The 2030-40 idea is simple. Enact legislation and provide incentives to guarantee that the United States accelerates its transition from 'dirty' CO2 emitting power sources to clean, renewable energy.

The United States ranks second only to China in total carbon emissions from power plants. Meanwhile, the European Union is to meet in 2014 and expand their highly successful renewable energy policies.

In the pursuit of energy independence and in the face of rapid climate change, we must demand that the government set concrete and meaningful goals to reduce carbon emissions and foster the growth and global adoption of renewable energy.
