A Defense Department defends us! We must establish a cabinet-level Department of Peace that focuses on the creation of purposeful peaceful conditions on the world stage. We must name our chief peace proponent, Ohio Representative Dennis Kucinich, as its head!
Why is this important?
With the need to project an image of power, believing that this will act to protect the U.S., we have allowed the military mindset and our military response machinery to determine our foreign policies. If we gird for WAR, we will respond with WAR, rather than restraint and wisdom. President Dwight Eisenhower warned of the power of the military industrial complex. If peace WERE PROFITABLE we would have peace! We need a cabinet-level Department of Peace. Ohio Representative Dennis Kucinich should be named as its head!
