We the people respectfully request all subsidies currently enjoyed by the oil and gas industry be immediately and forever diverted to the development, advancement, and installation of renewable energy sources.
Why is this important?
The US government currently provides annual subsides to carbon based industries in excess of $200 billion. This includes such industries as oil, natural gas, and coal. These industries are already very profitable and do not warrant this support. We propose these subsides instead be redirected to clean, renewable energy sources which will strengthen our energy independence and provide lasting jobs transforming our energy grid to use renewable energy sources.
