USD 259 - Jeff Freund To Remain Principal of Mayberry Middle School
We the staff, parents, and families of Mayberry Middle School District 259 would like to petition that Mr. Jeff Freund remain the principal at Mayberry and not be moved to a different school. In the three years he has been at Mayberry he has not only grown the Magnet program into the most applied to Middle School Magnet, but is a foundation for families, staff, and students. During a time of great uncertainty about daily school life, it would be detrimental to put students and staff through yet another change by having a new principal. He truly embraces the mission of Mayberry and has created a safe and including environment for staff and students. To change this environment now , would be unjust to not only students but their families and the staff.
Why is this important?
- Teachers deserve to have some consistency with leadership; Mayberry has frequently had new principals
- Families and students deserve a leader who embraces the Magnet of Mayberry and its mission.
- COVID-19 has taken away normalcy and whatever can be kept familiar should be.
