Verizon: Stop your fraudulent billing practices
Verizon offers great mobile service, and commands the highest price in the industry for that great service. It is not necessary for them to cheat their customers on each bill. On each mobile service monthly bill from Verizon, there is a section that lists "Taxes and fees". In that section, Verizon is adding an 83 cent "administrative fee", that is their own surcharge. By locating it under the taxes section it tricks people into believing it is some externally mandated fee. It is not. The real deception is however that the monthly fees you charge are understated by 83 cents on all your advertising. Either change your advertised price, or drop this fee.
Why is this important?
i have seen this "administrative fee" on my bill. I also noticed that they include 2 on the first month, if you happen to start your billing in the second half of the month. This sneaky, unwarranted fee, represents almost 100 million in year in hidden fees to consumers.
