Veto Cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid

The Congress and Senate shall have no right to change our social insurance programs except to increase coverage and strengthen the programs as follows:

Social Security insurance will be strengthened by raising the income withholding cap to apply to all earned income up to one million dollars, with regular COLA, and an earned income cap raise if needed to keep the program solvent. It must provide income level of at least 110% of yearly poverty level or higher. Anyone with income not at 125% of poverty level must be awarded food stamp assistance to provide adequate nutrition.

Medicare and Medicaid may only be changed by expansion into a single payer healthcare system, including prescription drug coverage, that covers all Americans citizens from birth to death. It will include long term, end of life care, at home with in-home healthcare help and/or hospice or in a covered facility if home care is not practicable or possible. It will cover mental health care and provide for building facilities with different levels of care, to manage the seriously mentally ill in a safe environment if they cannot reasonably be proved to be no danger to others or themselves..

The President, who was elected by all the people of the United States, is charged with vetoing any attempts to subvert, cancel, weaken, or change these social programs in any way except as stated in this petition.

Why is this important?

Do not sign the Super Committee's bill to make cuts to Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid. These are not property of the Congress or Senates to play with as they wish. They are insurance policies that the American people have paid for during their working lives.
