Virginia Dominion Power Monopoly
Virginia Dominion Energy bills are at an all time high. Consumers do not have any other electric options to compete against VA Power, allowing them to charge whatever they want. Dominion Energy customers in Virginia typically pay between 11 and 13 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) for electricity. Dominion Energy has year over year made millions of dollars in profits. Energy is not a necessity, its become a requirement to live a healthy life.
We consumers need:
1. A reduction in rate making energy more affordable for all consumers
2. A competitor option to choose from instead of the monopoly Virginia Dominion Energy has created
3. Capped net earnings for the Virginia Dominion Energy. We understand its a business and they should receive profits for hard earned work. However, not at the expense of consumers having to suffer when their executives pocket large amounts in bonuses year over year
4. The Attorney General to step in and help with regulation, competition and fairness in the electric market. If no other options are going to be made available for electric, we need to explore other energy options such as wind or solar
In closing, families are having to choose between putting groceries on the table or keeping the lights on. This should never be a reoccurring thing people have to decide on. Energy bills are consistently getting higher. Attorney General of Virginia, we need your help and your voice to bring light and a resolution to this situation.
