Voice to the voiceless

Breakthroughs in scientific evidence, have precipitated a change in the way the intelligence of other animals are viewed. The point of this elective would be to teach students about what role humans play in the larger scope of the world. We would make a point that humans are just part of the picture and shouldn't be viewed as any more significant than any other species. And by that thinking the problem of granting equality to animals suddenly seems more important than problems that are restricted only to people. I believe this is the right thing to do, because it is this very type of thinking that we'll prevent us from destroying the world we live in.
