Vote on the Issues !!!!

Just like we go and vote for senators, presidents, govenors at various times per year. I would like to be able to vote on issues as they are brought forth in congress. We the people should be able to make our voice heard by voting. I would like both sides of congress to make proposals to fix a solution, then put them out to vote. We should all be able to vote on the path we believe in rather than just letting the issue fail completely. Such as the alternative energy plans - we should be able to vote if we want to continue sinking money into oil from other countries, putting money into wind mills, putting money into developing electric cars, Keystone pipeline, etc.... whatever the options being proposed should be put out to the public in a simple format so we might be able to vote with our own thoughts. A website developed to show pro's and con's of each proposal would be nice so we could then make an informed vote. I know we have state officials that we can write letters to, etc but it doesn't seem to really be a vote of the people. It would have been interesting to see how the Social Medicine bill would have turned out had we all been able to vote on our own selecting the changes we wanted. I don't want just another convuluted process that ends up meaningless but a simple way to voice our concerns and have accountability. The votes should actually show which way issues should be handled and Congress would still have an important job of putting proposals together. Thank you.
