Voter ID laws will supress black vote

Poor people are less likely to have photo IDs--and black people are disproportionately poor. As for birth certificates many older blacks do not have the original that some states require.

Why is this important?

African Americans must have a photo ID to vote.

When I was living in Florida in 2000 and 2004 African Americans were told their poling place was closed, and they were turned away. So much for photo ID!
