To: The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate
Warn Our Legislators That We Will Hold Them to Account
To: the Members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives:
You, together with your colleagues in the Congress, have a responsibility to aggressively and openly resist those in the Executive branch whose irrational rhetoric and actions ill-serve both your constituents and our country. For it will only be through your active endorsement of, or passive acquiescence in, the Executive’s agenda that the nation will be forced to suffer its consequences.
In that event, you must know that the voters will come increasingly to understand both your role in the enabling of that agenda and your failure to meet your responsibility to defend the country against its enactment. And that understanding will show itself at the ballot box as you seek reelection. To paraphrase the words of our former Secretary of State, if you don’t oppose it, then you own it.
We are the voters. And we have placed our faith in you to protect our interests and the best interests of our nation. Trust that, regardless of our party affiliation, we will carefully grade your performance when we reenter the voting booth. Should you fail to meet your responsibilities as our representative - and should we suffer the consequences of that failure - you must, and will, be turned out of office.

Why is this important?
We must not allow our legislators to silently benefit from Donald Trump's presence in the White House without their personal acceptance of responsibility for the agenda he is promoting. Join us in warning them that we, the voters, will remember and hold them to account when they stand for reelection.
