Reroute the Columbia River around the area of the Hansford Nuclear Plant, where the waste seepage continues to threaten the river, and dump it back into the river basin, downstream, once well beyond the area of contamination. Have the western drought stricken states pay for the project and in return, allow them to take some pre agreed upon percentage of the fresh water from the Columbia, and redirect it to the empty reservoirs around the seven states: CA, NV, NM, AZ, UT, CO, WY . Costs could be divided in a way commensurate with the amount of water to be received by each state.
Why is this important?
Someone needs to get moving here. There are two catastrophes in the making and this project would go a long way toward solving both of them
