To: The Connecticut State House, The Connecticut State Senate, and Governor Ned Lamont
We Are All Newtownians From This Day Forward
We, the undersigned, respectfully request that Governor Dan Malloy, working with Senate Majority Leader Looney and Speaker Donovan, create a fund that will accept donations toward the creation of a lasting memorial to the memory of each of the precious children and courageous adults lost at Sandy Hook School on December 14, 2012. Further, in the true spirit of Christmas and humanity, each of the undersigned resolves to spend one less dollar on personal Christmas gifts and to donate that dollar to the fund.
Why is this important?
We are Americans. Not red, not blue, but red, white and blue! Like Americans everywhere, our grief and sympathy for the children and adults brutally murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary, and for their families, is profound and lasting. This petition seeks to create a memorial at Sandy Hook School that will serve as a lasting reminder of a community's, and a nation's, grief over the loss of these precious Americans.
